We are based in the Generator Building within the Finzels Reach area of central Bristol – situated in a harbourside setting with just a 5min walk to Cabot Circus and a 10min walk to the train station. The Generator Building is grade II listed structure modernly restored to celebrate its heritage features and history, providing an appropriate fit to our business capability and culture.

We are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our business at an exciting phase of growth and matriculation where our people are valued and empowered to support our development.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake examinations and surveys pertaining to assessments, repairs and design of bridges and structures

  • Assist and undertake authoring of bridge assessments, bridge repair design and bridge designs

  • Assist with the programme and deliverables of your projects

  • Develop towards Chartership through our accredited training programme

  • Develop towards further responsibilities with experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering at least 2-1 classification

  • Specific interest to pursue career in bridge engineering

  • Ability to demonstrate sound understanding of structural engineering

  • Willing and able to work towards chartership with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate concepts with clarity and confidence

  • Working knowledge of CAD and structural analysis software packages

  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK to undertake site visits

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous undergraduate structural engineering experience preferable

  • University modules within structural analysis, design, and bridge engineering preferable

  • UK driving license
